Issey Miyake

Recognised as one of fashion’s most influential designers, Issey Miyake’s avant-garde approach broke the mould with conceptual designs that transcended the boundaries of seasonal trends. Born in Hiroshima in 1938, the late Japanese creative launched his first collection in New York in 1971 and his ground-breaking ‘A Piece of Cloth’ project – demonstrating that clothes could be simply formed from a singular thread and then come to life through the wearer – continues to inform the ready-to-wear landscape. Creative Director Satoshi Kondo has translated this softly sculptural and thoughtful aesthetic since 2019 – embrace the look with our edit of technical-pleated tops, dresses and skirts in a range of vibrant primary colours.
