BY WALID

‘We start with a textile, like a lace that came from Venice, and we accumulate them and we create a new textile out of them,’ says Walid al Damirji of his brand By Walid. ‘They could be in a bad state so we actually save these textiles and create a new fabric. And from that we create very simple shapes. No two garments are the same.’ He tells The Style Report more in the video below.

STYLE ICON

GIGI HADID

Model-of-the-moment Gigi Hadid is making waves with her chic off-duty style. Spotted braving the elements at New York fashion week, Hadid combined greys, blues and metallics to stylish effect. Burberry Prorsum’s light grey cashmere coat works well over Balmain biker jeans and a cobalt Balenciaga sweater. Finish the look with metallic lace-up derby shoes.

THE LITTLE WHITE DRESS

This season’s alternative to the classic LBD is the LWD (little white dress). Whether in muted springtime shades of ivory or summery ice white, the little white dress can be worn with chunky heels or wedges for garden-party style, or be accessorised with statement metallic pieces for evening glamour. Use it to elevate a summer tan or to add impact to dark hair.
