Words by Helen Wigham.

editors’ picks

CHAIN-STRAP BAGS

Delicate chain-strap bags get an autumnal update via a palette of rich monochrome, mustard yellow and dark blue. Snakeskin and sumptuous leather make Givenchy, Nina Ricci and Chloé’s ladylike bags work well with full skirts and molten metallic jewellery for a retro feel.

The Hot 5

1. TRY a boho lOOK

Masscob – an amalgamation of founders Marga Massanet and Jacobo Cobián – looks to fuse masculine and feminine through its line of simply stunning, bohemian separates.

2. invest in unique jewellery

Fine jewellery designer Monique Péan is renowned for using fossilised mammoth and dinosaur bone slices. She has now added sustainable Tahitian pearls to her Art Deco-inspired pieces. Use them to add a luxe edge to crisp white shirts and sleek pencil skirts.

3. visit a chic salon in london

New blow dry bar Aer has opened up in London’s South Kensington. Named after cities from around the world, looks range from the Dubai – a serious power blow dry – to the tousled, bohemian Cape Town. aerblowdrybar.com

4. refresh your lip colour

Mac Cosmetics has launched Cremesheen Pearl: a collection of lipsticks and lip glosses infused with pearlised pigments and Asia-inspired colours. Our favourite? Nippon, a creamy coral pink tone. maccosmetics.co.uk

5. go bold in red shoes

Salvatore Ferragamo’s Vara pumps have been an iconic style for the label since the 1960s – wear them to elevate denim or tailored looks.

STYLE MUSE

CATHERINE DENEUVE

Channel 1960s sweetheart Catherine Deneuve’s style with A-line dresses from REDValentino, Marni and Saint Laurent. Ruby red, black and tonal blue designs featuring Peter Pan collars, scalloped edging and bows are demure for daytime when worn with pointed flats. Team with chunky sandals for a contrasting, bold silhouette come nightfall.
