Sophie Buhai

LA-based designer Sophie Buhai explores surrealism through a minimalist lens with the sculptural forms of her intricate handcrafted jewellery and hair accessories, which she began creating in 2015. Inspired by the work of sculptor Barbara Hepworth and painter Georgia O’Keeffe, she is drawn to smooth silhouettes and the pleasing simplicity of imperfection, intending to echo the qualities of antique pieces. Look out for retro-tinged gold-vermeil hoop earrings and baroque-pearl necklaces alongside velvet headbands and satin scrunchies.
