Itoh was launched in 2018 by New Delhi-based designer Amit Babbar, who wanted to create a menswear label that emphasised the same attention to garment detail and construction that he saw while working in Japan. The 15 years he spent in the country inspired the label’s name, which is Japanese for ‘thread', and underscores the creation of each piece. Babbar sources fabrics from West Bengal – including compact poplin from Chennai and handwoven cotton silks from Kolkata – and works with a dedicated team of artisans to craft classic silhouettes uniquely made with varied construction techniques. Expect relaxed cotton shirts, easy trouser sets and timeless shades of sage green, navy blue and brick red.
