Frette has specialised in soft home furnishings since 1860 and still operates out of its Monza and Milan-based ateliers – and, as of 2016, its flagship Mayfair store. Frette linens are considered among the best: once used on tables on the Orient Express and currently covering the beds of the Paris Ritz, Claridge’s in London, the Hotel Danieli in Venice and Raffles in Singapore. A rigorous finishing process sees long-fibre cotton and cashmere spun with a supreme thread count and woven into smooth poplin, sateen and the label’s signature jacquard. Once perfected, they are transformed into elegant duvet covers with coordinating sheets and pillow cases, cosy quilts and throws as well as decorative cushions, table cloths and dining linens, all designed to last a lifetime.
