1882 x Faye Toogood

Coming Soon for Spring/Summer 2024

1882 is named after the year the Johnson Brothers family began their eponymous pottery company in Stoke-on-Trent, England, where they quickly gained notoriety for introducing under-glaze printed ceramics, an innovation of the time. Today, the label is led by fourth and fifth generations of the family, creating pieces that merge elegant sculpture with daily function, some of which are in permanent display at The Louvre in Paris and the Victoria and Albert museum in London. The label now collaborates with London-based designer Faye Toogood, whose academic background in fine art and work in the magazine industry lend a refined, honed edge to her pieces – think classic ceramic tableware with a contemporary expressionist spin of patterns and colours.
