Christina Martini and Nikolas Minoglou joined together to create Ancient Greek Sandals in 2012, fusing her design expertise with his business background. They share a love for Greek culture – its architecture, mythology, pottery, sculpture and jewellery, to name a few – as epitomised by the label’s distinctive buckles, which are shaped as wings to reference the legend of the shoemaker who made a pair of magic sandals for the deity Hermes. Each pair is crafted in Greece using centuries-long techniques that require the manual skill of artisans to transform chemical-free and naturally tanned leather into curated styles made to stand the test of time.
