The Lacquer Company

The Lacquer Company was founded in 2008 by English-born interiors specialist James Lowther who was originally inspired by a burnt-orange antique betel box purchased in Burma. Beginning with custom orders, the label soon commissioned its own homeware collections in collaboration with designers including Luke Edward Hall, Rita Konig and Veere Grenney, and expanded its own range of handmade pieces featuring the works of artisans based in Saigon. Now with offices in Vietnam, London and New York, the label employs natural materials such as tree resin and cashew-nut oil and uses underwater sanding techniques to create contemporary home accessories and furniture in bright, primary colours.
