Italian shoe label Aquazzura was founded by designer Edgardo Osorio after a summer spent attending weddings and parties with his female friends who lamented the uncomfortableness of their beautiful shoes. The experience made Osorio realise there was a need for a luxury footwear label that prioritised both aesthetics and comfort equally. Osorio studied at both London College of Fashion and Central Saint Martins before working at several major fashion houses.
