Pippa Holt
Former British Vogue stylist Pippa Holt launched her eponymous line of colourful kaftans in 2016, inspired by childhood memories spent on the beaches of Australia and adult life in the searing heat of Texas. Over the course of four weeks, each piece is handcrafted by one of 400 artisans in the village of San Colorado in the Mexican state of Oaxaca. Dyed thread is set onto a backstrap loom – a weaving technique used by the community for generations – to create a textured, lightweight cotton, then finished with embroidered floral motifs and classic whipstitching in bright, vibrant hues.
