Credited as the creator of the Aiguille heel, or stiletto, Roger Vivier jumpstarted his illustrious career in 1930 when he began making custom footwear for the likes of acclaimed Moulin Rouge entertainer Josephine Baker, French actress Catherine Deneuve, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and a host of other extraordinary women through the years. Currently helmed by Gherardo Felloni, the label continues to revive signature styles such as the Belle Vivier and Flower Strass pumps – both characterised by the iconic chrome-plated and crystal-embellished buckles that now adorn the face of the modern silhouettes, keeping Monsieur Vivier’s legacy alive.
