The British brand was first formed as part of the Northamptonshire Productive Society in 1881 and, since 1899, has been based at the same purpose-built factory in Wollaston, Northamptonshire – the beating heart of the British shoemaking industry. The label produced Sole Of Air boots for Dr Martens until the 1990s and employs a meticulous manufacturing process that’s underpinned by expert tooling, innovative Goodyear welt technology and heavy-duty stitching done on vintage Puritan sewing machines.
