Maximalist glamour infused with a vintage sensibility defines Sylvia Toledano’s aesthetic, translating to the French jeweller’s whimsical collection of wearable art. Inspired by a childhood spent in Africa, her travels to India and a deep passion for art, Toledano founded her eponymous label in 2008 and continues to hand-sketch designs in her Parisian studio before they are brought to life in a workshop in Jaipur. Confectionary-like gemstones – including malachite, amethyst, turquoise, onyx and pearl – act as a starting point for each piece, decorating collections of statement earrings, rings, cuffs and necklaces, and adding a bright pop of colour to the gleaming gold-plated brass settings.
